This has been my longest hiatus -- at one whole year. I had plans to post more often, but being stuck at home all day hasn't helped in terms of creativity. I'm sure I would even be bored reading about the same blog post about my daily life: wake up, upload a video onto YouTube for my students, mark assignments all day till around 4 PM. COVID-19 has definitely put a damper on everyone, and things certainly don't seem better with the variants.
Granted, there has been some positive outcomes from the pandemic. Being at home meant money saved -- almost no eating out, no travelling, and no need to fill up my gas tank. I also had more time to do things around the house such as placing down sod, spending more time detailing my car and completing some video games. I haven't been playing much, but as of last year I was able to complete FF VII Remake (I'm now Team Aerith!) and just recently, Ghost of Tsushima.
I'll will most likely force myself to write more often. I'm quite sure that my writing skills degraded during the year long absence of this blog. I doubt content would change dramatically, though that is to be determined! Thank you to those of you that gave me warm birthday greetings/wishes for today! To another year of my 30's!
It's a nice touch that Animal Crossing New Horizons celebrates your birthday! I wasn't able to celebrate with friends for the past two years, so this will have to do for now. I forgot to mention that I spent the evening rewatching Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shouho no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl). For those of you not familiar with the series, it's a movie "sequel" (covers volume 6 and 7 of the light novels, in which I started reading) to the anime adaptation. I definitely needed a second watch in order to pick up on the subtle details that I missed the first time watching it. Still tugs at my heart... I feel more sentimental as I age.
